The story is adapted from a stage play in 1925 at New York Theater. The play is written by written by Albert Lewin. Stars in this play are George Sanders as Charles Strickland. Another adaption is American TV in 1959, some supporting role with  Laurence OlivierHume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy.
